CINCINNATI, OH -- January 2, 2002 -- North American Software, Inc. (NASI), makers of the Broker’s Helper and Investment Advisor’s Helper portfolio and contact management applications, announces that Robert Seal has been named Chief Executive Officer, and Kevin Seal has been named Director of Corporate Communications.

The original founder of the company, Bob Seal, passed away in November of 2001.  His two sons assisted him in the original establishment of NASI in 1983, and Robert Seal worked as Director of Marketing for the firm in the 1990s.  Until his father’s death, Kevin Seal worked as a technology journalist for CMP Media (a part of United Business Media) in San Francisco.

“Bob’s early, penetrating vision for this industry, his care and consideration for others, and his sunny outlook in the face of adversity made him unique,” wrote Robert Seal in a letter to users of Broker’s Helper and Investment Advisor’s Helper. “He was the humblest of revolutionary thinkers, a man who found himself in businesses – software, finance, and technology – where humility is rare.”

New announcements regarding the Helper Series:

1. The new 4.5 version of the Helper Series (Broker’s Helper Basic, Broker’s Helper Advanced, Investment Advisor’s Helper, and Sales Professional’s Helper) will be released to the public at the end of January. 

2. NASI’s ongoing partnership with Protogent (formerly Navigator) continues to be fruitful. Our developers are currently writing a new Data Import package for users of the Helper Series and Protogent’s compliance applications.

3. NASI is converting the databases of former Broker’s Notebook users to the Broker’s Helper Advanced platform.  When Reuters terminated support for the Broker’s Notebook software on January 1, 2002, NASI stepped forward as the only company currently offering data conversion for Broker’s Notebook users.  Additional information is available at http://www.nasoftware.com/BN.html
