1. Pressing F1 at any time while running the program will give you instant help pertaining to your current activity
2. Right mouse clicking over most areas of the program will display a menu of options pertaining to the area you are in
3. If you try to schedule an activity at a time when
you already have one planned, the Helper Series will alert you. If you schedule it anyway, the Planner Window will display the times in red to signify the conflict
4. Zip codes can be associated with cities, states, and countries. When entering an address, just enter the zip code and press
the Fill button - the rest will fill in automatically. To setup addresses for cities, press the Advanced button on the Address entry window
5. When entering a date or time, press Control and
the Down Arrow key or click on the Down arrow button to display a Date/Time select dialog
6. Press the button above a list column (like "When" in the History log) once to sort the list and again to reverse the order
7. To give new contacts a default address, select Options form the Tools menu. Select the Contacts folder and enter any
default address fields you would like to have automatically entered when creating a new contact
8. You can use the session timer to record the time spent working for a contact, and automatically create a a new charge for
the time. To start the Session Timer, select Session Timer from the Tools menu. This will bring up the Session Timer dialog
9. When adding an activity to the Planner Window, you can select a range of times by holding down the Shift key. Once a range
is selected press the New Commitment button. The Start Time and End Time fields will be automatically entered in the Schedule Commitment dialog
10. You can turn an alarm on by selecting an alarm
time from the drop down Alarm list when configuring a commitment. When turned on, an Alarm dialog will pop up to remind you of the upcoming event if you have the Helper Series running
11. You can use wildcards with any type of field
(text, date, currency) in a search. A "*" searches for any match regardless of position and a "?" finds matches specific to a position. For example, Last Name = "Smit?" would find all "Smith"s whereas Last Name = "Smit*" would find all "Smith"s but also any last name whose first four letters are "Smit" (i. e. "Smitlan", "Smithson")
12. On any of the find windows, like the Find Contact window, the Recent Folder contains a list of the records you opened
most recently. Select a record from this list to quickly return to a recent or commonly used record
13. When entering a contact's name or address, the Helper Series will automatically capitalize entries for you.
14. You can bill time from your Planner.
For commitments that have a start and end time or a duration specified, pressing the "Bill Time" button from the top toolbar will open the "New Charge" window.
15. As of version 4.2, you can enter an address right from the Contacts screen and the program will parse the pieces
- street, city, state, etc. - for you.
16. As of version 4.2, you can modify the choices offered for items like Person Type by selecting the "Edit
Choices..." option from the drop down list.
